ABOUT BBSA
The Black Business Student Association (BBSA) was founded in September 2024 by a group of passionate students who wanted to create a space where Black excellence could truly thrive. We recognized that while York University is home to many talented Black students across diverse programs from economics and management to finance and marketingthere wasn’t yet a dedicated platform that brought everyone together. BBSA was created to fill that gap. Our mission is to empower Black students at York with the resources, mentorship, and networks they need to succeed in their careers and beyond. We host events, workshops, and networking sessions designed to uplift our members, equip them with skills, and connect them with Black professionals and leaders who inspire us every day. At BBSA, we believe in building each other up, breaking barriers, and creating a future where every Black student can achieve their goals and leave a lasting impact.

We welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds who are passionate about leadership, entrepreneurship, and career development. Whether you're in your first year or final year, our community is here to connect you with resources, mentorship, and a network that champions your growth.
